To promote the concept and raise public awareness of energy saving measures, City University of Hong Kong (CityU) is launching the “Green Light Movement” on 18 January. Officiating guests will speak on issues relating to saving energy (please refer to the attached programme), and introduce a lighting management system developed by CityU that can reduce the electricity consumption from lighting in buildings by 20% or more. The system is being used in public housing estates, commercial buildings and hotels in support of government policy to promote greener buildings.
Secondary school teachers and students will be invited to participate in the “Green Light Movement” and attend the ceremony.
