The prize presentation ceremony for the third City Literary Awards writing competition, hosted by City University of Hong Kong (CityU), will be held on 17 May (Saturday). There are three categories: prose, short story and poetry. The winners are selected by nine prominent writers, including Mr Lu Hao, Mr Liu Wai-tong and Professor Joseph Lau Shiu-ming (prose); Mr Li Rui, Mr Chang Ta-chuan and Mr Yan Lianke (short story); and Mr Leung Ping-kwan (Ya Shi), Mr Bei Dao and Professor Cheng Chou-yu (poetry). Each of the category winners will present their ideas on writing and a response in regard to their victory.

 

The City Literary Awards ceremony is one of the events of the City Literary Festival, the theme of which is “City Movement”, sponsored by the Robert H. N. Ho Family Foundation. Well-known local and overseas writers were also invited to discuss and showcase their writing experience at a number of seminars in Hong Kong and Macau. All winning entries will be published later this year in the third issue of City Literature.
