The School of Law of City University of Hong Kong (CityU) and the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) will conclude a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on capacity-building in international dispute settlement on    10 March 2008. This MoU is the first agreement that UNCTAD has ever signed with a university in the Asia-Pacific region on dispute settlement.   

 

This MoU will reinforce the goals of both CityU and UNCTAD for enhancing dispute settlement expertise in the areas of international trade, investment, intellectual property and international commercial arbitration. The regional focus is on China and other developing countries of the Asia-Pacific region.

 

Following the signing ceremony cum press briefing, Dr Supachai Panitchpakdi will deliver a public lecture on “Globalisation and Inclusive Development: An UNCTAD Perspective”.
