Art exhibition captures hidden talents of CityU staff

City University of Hong Kong (CityU)’s Library and Human Resources Office have jointly organised the second exhibition of artwork created by the CityU Community. As part of the University’s focus on whole-person development, an opening ceremony for the exhibition together with the “Sharing the Experience of Art” session was held today (6 March). The event provided an opportunity for members of the CityU Community to share and exchange their experiences in developing an interest in arts.

The exhibition comprises more than 50 contributions, including paintings, calligraphy, sketches and glass sculptures. Participants in the exhibition include teaching and general staff and their family members. Professor Richard Ho Yan-ki, CityU Acting President, Professor Cheng Pei-kai, Director of the Chinese Civilisation Centre, Lady Ivy Wu, wife of Honorary Doctor of Social Science Sir Gordon Wu Ying-sheung, and other staff and their family from the Building Science and Technology division, Communications Office, Department of English and Communication, Facilities Management Office and Library were amongst the exhibitors.

The exhibition will be held in the new Learning Commons area of the library from today (6 March) to 31 March. A photography display recording the collective memories of the CityU Community has also been arranged to further enhance the event.
