2007 Congregation – Conferment of Honorary Degrees
The City University of Hong Kong (CityU) 2007 Congregation will be held from 6 November to 15 November. The conferment of honorary degrees will be held at the 6th session on 8 November. At the ceremony, Dr Norman Leung Nai-pang, Pro-Chancellor of CityU, will confer honorary doctorates on the following four prominent individuals:
Dr Chan Sui-kau, founder and Executive Chairman of Yangtzekiang Garment Limited – Honorary Doctor of Social Science;
Professor Claude Cohen-Tannoudji, a Nobel laureate – Honorary Doctor of Science;
Ms Elizabeth Wang Ming-chun, an acclaimed artist – Honorary Doctor of Letters; and
Sir Gordon Wu Ying-sheung, Chairman of Hopewell Holdings Limited and former Council Chairman of CityU – Honorary Doctor of Social Science.
In addition, two outstanding graduates will meet the media before the Congregation. They are Louise Zhang Lu, graduate of the BBA (Hons) Finance programme, and Sandy Kwan Yee-mei, graduate of the BSocSc (Hons) Policy Studies and Administration programme. Louise has beaten more than 1,000 competitors to become one of the three graduate trainees employed by a world famous investment bank.

出席學位頒授典禮的傳媒代表敬請注意以下事項：
1. There will be two media zones inside the Hall. One of them will be at the back of the Hall, facing the centre of the stage for covering a wider angle. It could accommodate TV crews and photographers using tripods for recording and photography. Another small-scale media zone at the right hand side of the stage could only accommodate media representatives using handheld video recorders and cameras. Media representatives are requested to stay in one of the designated areas until the end of the event, and would not be allowed to move between the two media zones during the ceremony.
會場內設有兩個傳媒採訪區。位於會場後方的採訪區面向台中，可供電視台及報章記者配備腳架拍攝；另一個採訪區則設於台側右方，只可供使用手提攝錄機或相機拍攝。傳媒代表請留在已選定的採訪區內，直至典禮完結為止，期間不能在兩個採訪區之間走動。
2. Telephoto lens is recommended for taking photos in the Hall.
