Media session – First women’s mosque in Hong Kong?

Media representatives are cordially invited to cover the following event:

City University of Hong Kong (CityU) has invited representatives from Oxford University, the UN and women’s groups from the region to discuss women’s empowerment in Muslim contexts at a conference from 11 to 15 December.

One of the issues under discussion is a call for setting up the first women’s mosque in Hong Kong. At the media session, Dr Wee, who heads the research project on women’s empowerment with a $53 million grant from the UK Government, will explain why Hong Kong needs a women’s mosque, the first in Hong Kong.
