An electronic engineering student from City University of Hong Kong (CityU), Chen Jiashu, has been awarded a Fulbright Science and Technology Fellowship by the US Department of State. Mr Chen is the first undergraduate from Hong Kong to receive this honour, and winners of the award will be sponsored for their PhD studies at one of the top US institutions in science, technology or engineering, such as Stanford University, UC Berkeley, and Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

 

Mr Chen will meet the media together with Professor Luk Kwai-man, Head of the Department of Electronic Engineering; Professor (Chair) Chan Chi-hou of Electronic Engineering and the Dean of the Faculty of Science and Engineering; and Dr Xue Quan, Associate Professor in the Department of Electronic Engineering.

 

Also present at the media session will be two industrialists who support CityU’s scientific research. They are Dr Measure Hung Kim-fung, Chairman of Mobicon Group Limited; and Mr Johnny Yeung, Chairman of Fujikon Industrial Holdings Ltd.
