CityU elicits secondary school students’ creativity in science and engineering

Event:    Faculty of Science and Engineering’s Project-based Outreach Programme Presentation Ceremony

 

Date:     23 September 2006 (Saturday)

 

Time:     Media representatives please assemble at 11:15 a.m. at the reception counter of 4/F, Cheng Yick-chi Building, City University of Hong Kong (CityU).

 

Ten teams from eight secondary schools will present the results and findings of their projects at the Faculty of Science and Engineering’s Project-based Outreach

Programme Presentation Ceremony on 23 September. Winning teams will also be

announced during the occasion.

 

Science and engineering projects undertaken include: how to design a walking stick that prevents the elderly from slipping; and how an automatic blackboard cleaner operates. A total of 56 secondary students took part in the Project-based Outreach Prgramme this year, under the guidance of CityU staff and students.
