CityUHK strengthens Singapore alumni network with President’s Tea Reception and Singapore Alumni Chapter Plaque Unveiling Ceremony

City University of Hong Kong (CityUHK) continues to expand and strengthen its global alumni network through diverse activities and engagement opportunities. Recently, CityUHK hosted a President’s Tea Reception and Singapore Alumni Chapter Plaque Unveiling Ceremony at the co-working space at O2Work Pte Ltd (O2Work) in Singapore, attracting over 40 alumni. The O2Work co-working space will also serve as a venue for future alumni events.

Since its establishment in January 2025, the CityUHK Singapore Alumni Chapter, led by its Chairman, Dr Anna Lau Pui-yi, has been dedicated to strengthening the alumni network across Singapore, the Chapter aims to further strengthen the bond between the University and the alumni community in Singapore. The plaque unveiling ceremony also marks a milestone of the CityUHK Singapore Alumni Chapter.

A highlight of the event was Professor Freddy Boey, President and University Distinguished Professor of CityUHK, demonstrated how to make Rojak— an iconic Singaporean dish that celebrates cultural diversity. President Boey expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the ExCo Members of the CityUHK Singapore Alumni Chapter for their dedication, adding that their efforts will undoubtedly strengthen the alumni network in Singapore. He also shared updates on the University’s latest developments and its pivotal role in nurturing and connecting young talent.

Dr Lau shared exciting plans for upcoming alumni events, including Singapore food exploration events and professional lectures to support career development. Joining her at the event were ExCo members Mr Matthew Kong Kin-chau, Mr Alfred Mo Ha, Mr Kenneth Yung Kin-on and Mr Vincent Wong Tau-yeung, who also shared their experiences of living in Singapore.

Other guests joining the event include Dr Fan Chaobin, Chairman of CityUHK Shenzhen Alumni Chapter, and Mr Li Feng, Honorary Chairman of CityUHK Shanghai Alumni Chapter. CityUHK representatives in attendance included Ms Ng Pheck Choo, Senior Director of the Office of the President and Director of the Global Engagement Office; Ms Pheony Tsang, Deputy Director of Alumni Relations Office (ARO); and Ms Joyce Siu, Associate Director of ARO.
