In his speech, Professor Lee expressed his delight at gathering with the retiring colleagues to celebrate this significant milestone in their lives. He thanked them for their years of dedication in various positions, during which they witnessed CityUHK’s transformation from having just one academic building to becoming today’s internationalised campus. Professor Lee also presented commemorative watches on behalf of the University to express its appreciation to the retirees.

At the farewell party, two retirees, Dr Daniel Tse Woon-kwan, Instructor I in the Department of Information Systems and Ms Vivian Lee Wing-lan, Clerical Officer I in the College of Engineering, shared their work experiences and memorable moments at CityUHK with the guests.

Dr Tse, who has taught at CityUHK for nearly 25 years, described the University as his “second home”. He recalled how he gave up a high-paying job to join academia at the invitation of his doctoral supervisor, who believed his industry experience would enable him to help students better understand practical concepts through real-life examples.

Dr Tse remains deeply impressed by the nearly perfect teaching evaluation scores he once received from students, describing it as the most unforgettable moment of his teaching career.
