The College of Science hosted the 6th Annual International Mathematical Modeling Challenge (IMMC) Finalist Presentation Competition for the Region of Mainland, Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macau during 8 and 9 May 2020.
IMMC is an innovative contest in mathematical modeling for secondary school students all over the world. It aims to promote mathematical modeling education and enhance students’ core competences in mathematics, encouraging participants to explore the application of mathematical modeling in real life situations to solve problems of importance.
As Professor Raymond Chan, Dean, College of Science, remarked in the opening speech, “the world is getting more quantitative and data driven. The society will depend more and more on mathematical modeling,” the College is honored to support the competition. We hoped that students could gain knowledge, techniques and experience regarding mathematical modeling, which would also benefit their future study and career.
