The Foreign-related Legal Training Programme for Shanghai Hongkou District Justice Bureau
The Foreign-related Legal Training Programme for Shanghai Hongkou District Justice Bureau has successfully concluded on 27 June 2025. The one-week programme was organized by the School of Law, City University of Hong Kong, from 23 to 27 June 2025.
During the week-long intensive training, trainees completed seven lectures and two visits. The lectures delivered by Dr. Jimmy MA, SBS, Dr. LIU Wei, Partner of the Jingtian & Gongcheng, Mr. WANG Xizhen, Barrister at law, Mr. Alan J. XU, Co-Managing Partner (Chairman) of Zhong Lun Law Firm LLP, Mr. LI Lianjun, Partner of the Reed Smith Richard Bulter, Prof. WONG Ming Fung, SC, Adjunct Professor of School of Law, and Prof. DING Chunyan, Associate Dean of School of Law.
The trainees also had the opportunity to visit the Hong Kong International Arbitration Center and the Hong Kong International Legal Talents Training Academy. Through the training in Hong Kong, the trainees not only deepened their understanding of foreign-related legal knowledge, Hong Kong common law and Hong Kong’s financial system, but also enhanced their practical skills.
The closing ceremony was successfully held on 27 June 2025, at the School of Law, City University of Hong Kong. During his speech at the Closing Ceremony, Prof. LIN Feng, Dean of School of Law said “Over the past week, various thematic lectures have enabled participants to understand the foundational systems of Hong Kong's judicial framework, as well as specialized courses on Hong Kong company law, investment, financing and M&A, Hong Kong IPOs, maritime law, and case analysis. We firmly believe this bridge of Shanghai-Hong Kong cooperation will cultivate more legal professionals to collaboratively serve the cooperation under the 'Belt and Road' Initiative in the future.”
Mr. LI Erkang, a lawyer from Shanghai Everbright Law Firm representing the participants, also spoke at the closing ceremony. He first expressed sincere gratitude to the Hongkou District Justice Bureau and the City University of Hong Kong School of Law for establishing this valuable learning platform. He further commended Hong Kong's unique, independent, and internationally recognized judicial system and legal framework, stating:
"We cannot have a second Hong Kong. It is the only region within China's civil law territory that follows a common law system. This 'dual capacity' determines that Hong Kong is, and can only be, the institutional hub connecting China with the world." Mr. LI concluded by expressing his eagerness to further deepen collaboration between lawyers from Hong Kong and the Mainland, aiming to foster a prosperous future for the legal profession.
香港城市大學法律學院舉辦之上海市虹口區司法局 - 涉外法律專業實務研修班於2025年6月27日圓滿結業。
是次研修班爲期5天，由2025年6月23日至27日在香港城市大學舉行。 在為期一周的密集式培訓中，學員完成了七個專題講座以及兩次參訪活動，法律學院邀請到香港特區銀紫荊星章及太平紳士馬耀添大律師、競天公誠律師事務所合夥人劉巍博士、恒大清盤案呈請人代表王希真大律師、中倫律師事務所香港辦事處聯席管理合夥人徐建輝律師、禮德齊伯禮律師行合夥人、中國委託公證人李連君律師、法律學院客座教授王鳴峰資深大律師，以及法律學院副院長丁春豔教授為學員授課。 參訪行程包括香港國際仲裁中心以及香港國際法律人才培訓學院。透過是次培訓，學員們不僅深化了對涉外法律知識的理解，瞭解香港普通法以及香港金融制度，同時也提升了實務能力。
結業典禮於6月27日在香港城市大學法律學院舉行，法律學院院長林峰教授在結業典禮上致辭，他表示：「在過去一周，不同的專題講座讓學員們認識到香港司法系統的制度根基乃至香港公司法、投融資並購、香港IPO、海事及案例分析法等。我們堅信這座滬港合作之橋，能為未來協同服務“一帶一路”的金融合作，培養更多法律專業人才。」
研修班學員代表，來自上海市光大律師事務所的李爾康律師在結業典禮上發表結業感言。他由衷地感謝虹口區司法局和香港城市大學法律學院為學員們搭建了這次寶貴的學習平台， 更贊賞香港獨特、獨立且備受國際認可的司法體系和法律制度，「我們不可能有第二個香港。它是中國大陸法系版圖裡，遵循普通法的唯一地區。這種“雙重身份”，決定了連接中國與世界的制度樞紐，是香港，也只能是香港。」展望未來，他期望香港與大陸兩地的法律人攜手並肩，為法律領域作出更多有價值的貢獻。
