Important Notes for Application
Applicants should ensure all information provided in the application must be true and accurate. No amendment is allowed after the application deadline. Late/incomplete applications will not be accepted.
The Student Residence Office (SRO) will conduct vetting on hall applications submitted by students/residents throughout the year. Submission of inaccurate/incomplete information or failure to respond to vetting will lead to immediate disqualification and removal from the hall. Their future applications will also not be accepted throughout their entire study period. All hall lodging fees settled will not be refunded. Serious cases will be escalated to the University's Student Discipline Committee.
Residential Period and Room Assignment
SRO will assign the residential period subject to room availability. Rooms will be randomly assigned by the system. SRO and the Residence Masters reserve the right to make alternative assignment decisions or re-assign students as appropriate.
Residents will be required to vacate their rooms upon suspension, termination, leave of absence, study interruption, withdrawal, change of funding source and completion of their studies, visa expired, exchange programmes or any cases that result in inactive / part-time student status. Residents are required to check-out from the hall within 3 days upon SRO email notification and extension of stay is not entertained.
The University reserves the right to vacate any Student Residence under special circumstances as deemed appropriate. Residents are expected to strictly follow the arrangements as required.
Fees and Payment
Upon hall application result announcement, applicants have to pay a non-refundable and non-transferable Hall Confirmation Fee at a time specified in the offer email (via applicants email accounts used for hall application) to indicate an offer acceptance. Failure to pay the Hall Confirmation Fee by the specified deadline will imply a forfeiture of the offer. Please refer to the following webpage for the " Policies of Fees ".
Regulations Governing Student Residence
Students should comply with the " Regulations and Rules " in particular, abide by the above-mentioned "Policies of Fees", which will be updated from time to time.
Personal Information Collection Statement
The personal data collected in this application form will be used by SRO to process hall admission. All personal data on the application form are regarded as mandatory for the aforementioned purposes. You have the right to request access to and correction of the information under the Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance.
