Direct applications for CityU's Research Degree, Taught Postgraduate, Bachelor's Degree and government-funded Associate Degree programmes will be accepted from 14 January onwards. This year, we have 14 new programmes.
Some 14,000 visitors flocked to the campus on CityU's Information Day, 25 September 2004. The event provided prospective students with information and tips for selecting programmes at the University.
The Admissions Office (ADMO), the Faculty of Business (FB) and the School of Graduate Studies joined hands to participate in the ninth China International Education Exhibition Tour (CIEET), from 21 February to 3 March, in Beijing, Shanghai, and Xiamen. The Tour has successfully fulfilled its mission of broadening the University's student recruitment base and developing long-term networks in the mainland.
"I dreamed of studying abroad since I was a child," said Nicole Choi, final year student in the School of Creative Media. "Not only did I realize my dream, but I have reaffirmed my career goal of being a movie director." Nicole has just returned to campus after completing a four-month exchange programme in Carnegie Mellon University's School of Drama (CMU).
In addition to the scholarship admission scheme, students from mainland China can also apply for fee-paying undergraduate programmes in Hong Kong starting this year. In the latest round of admissions, 58 fee-paying students from the mainland have been accepted. This marks another step forward in the University's policy of recruiting mainland students, up to a ceiling of 4% of its first-year student population, under a Hong Kong government policy.
