Three outstanding CityU teachers have received the Teaching Excellence Awards 2008-09, outperforming a field of strong candidates with their enthusiasm and unique teaching methods.
CityU is introducing a pioneering double degree programme in construction and law, which creates a unique synergy for both professions and a win-win situation for students and employers. The programme will accept the first intake of 20 students in 2006.
An empirical study on energy consumption control of air-conditioning system in office environment won Mr Ryan Lee Lap-yan, a graduate of City University's Department of Building and Construction, the first prize of the 2002 Hays Montrose President's Prize from the Chartered Institution of Building Services Engineers (CIBSE).
Despite the region's current economic woes and increased unemployment rates, CityU's science and engineering students have received 30 per cent more job training placements over last year at multinational corporations in the Pearl River Delta region this summer.
