The eight finalists in the contest are all PhD students, except Kenji.

Kenji Yum Tsz-yin, bachelor's degree graduate of the Electronic Engineering Department this year, outperformed seven PhD students from other local tertiary institutions and got the champion in the IEE Hong Kong YMS (Younger Members Section) Paper Contest held in September.
