The award recognises CityU as an elite destination for the very best students and faculty worldwide, and acknowledges our research excellence, quality in teaching, globalisation experience for students, and capacity for nurturing student talent.
More than 600 delegates from over 60 universities from around the world participated in the conference, which was held in Putrajaya, Kuala Lumpur in November.
CityU received the 5-Star Plus Award because it received five stars in all criteria, i.e., research, teaching, internationalisation, facilities, innovation, employability, inclusiveness, and social sciences & management.
CityU now ranks 55th in the world and 7th in Asia and is the 4th best university in the world under 50 years of age according to the QS Rankings for 2016. In fact, CityU now ranks 3rd in Hong Kong according to the latest QS Asian University Rankings.
