At a forum held by the School of Creative Media at City University of Hong Kong (CityU) on 28 June, leaders from the creative industries shared how entrepreneurs grasp opportunities arising from the rapid development of social media.

The forum was titled “Era of Post Disruptive Technology: A Chance for Entrepreneurship in the Coming Adventurous Voyage”. The speakers were Mr Max Chow Chiu-fan, Chief Engineer, Marvel Digital Limited; Dr Vincent Lau Man-kin, Founder, Q9 Technology Company Limited; Mr Lo Wing-keung, creator of Pleasant Goat and Big Big Wolf; Dr Zola Tam Po-ling, Founder and Chief Executive Officer, Whole Person Development Institute; and Ms Aira To Yuk-fung, Managing Director, I-Sky Group.

In the talks, they encouraged students to break new ground in an era where there is a great deal of new and emerging technologies, but hardly any creativity, and talked about how they scaled new heights in their careers.

Following their presentations, the audience joined the speakers in a Q&A session. The lecture theater overflowed with high spirits to the pleasure of those present at this intellectual feast.

Mr Yim Chun-pang, Teaching Fellow at CityU’s School of Creative Media, was the convener of the forum, and Mr Mark Siu Wai-hung, Chief Strategist, Transmedia Communications Limited, acted as the moderator.
