Shenzhen research authority visits CityU

A delegation led by Mr Li Zhongxiang, Deputy Inspector of the Science, Technology and Innovation Commission of Shenzhen Municipality, explored the development of science and technology in Shenzhen and policies related to the Shenzhen Science and Technology Funding Programs with CityU faculty and staff at a seminar at City University of Hong Kong (CityU) on 25 April.

Participants learned about the commission’s recent strategic plans and areas for future research where funding is to be directed. After the seminar, the delegation visited CityU’s Centre for Robotics and Automatic and the Center of Super-Diamond and Advanced Films.

CityU has had outstanding success in seeking research funding from Shenzhen, raising RMB 6.62 million from the Shenzhen Science & Technology Funding Programs in 2012, representing a 500% increase in the number of funded projects compared to 2011.
