July 30, 2018

Prof. Dirk Pfeiffer, Chair Professor of One Health, shared his insights on value chain analysis and outbreak investigation by using local case studies at the “Value Chain Analysis for Assessing Veterinary Surveillance Systems & Outbreak Investigation” workshop in Singapore on July 12, 2018.

The workshop was organised by the Agri-Food and Veterinary Authority of Singapore (AVA) and attended by 55 participants. They included AVA veterinarians and officers working in outbreak investigation, epidemiology and animal health programmes, as well as staff from the National Environment Agency (NEA) and Wildlife Reserves Singapore (WRS). It was aimed at enhancing participants’ knowledge in recognizing the importance of a systems perspective when dealing with infectious disease risks, as well as introduce them to the importance of adopting an interdisciplinary approach.
