A promotion and recruitment meeting of the Dongguan internship programme "Soaring Wings" (HK station) was held at CityUHK, showcasing Dongguan's city image and its sincere interest in attracting talent from among Hong Kong university students. Mr. YAO Jiaqing, Deputy Director of the Organization Department of the Dongguan Municipal Committee, extended a sincere invitation to the representatives of Hong Kong universities and students present, welcoming university students from Hong Kong to sign up for the internship programme and intern or work in Dongguan. This was the first visit by the Dongguan Municipal Talent Office to Hong Kong to promote the city and attract talent since the pandemic. The event was hosted by the Dongguan Municipal Talent Office and co-organised by the Dongguan Municipal Youth League Committee and CityUHK.

Mr. ZHU Jianhua, Deputy Director of the Department of Education of Guangdong Province, led a delegation to visit CityUHK on 6 March 2024. The two sides held discussions and exchanged views on the development of higher education and talent cultivation in the two regions, with fruitful results.

Ms. WANG Yueqin, Director of the Department of Science and Technology of Guangdong Province, led a delegation to visit CityUHK on 29 January 2024. The two sides held discussions and explored ideas and suggestions for future Guangdong–Hong Kong science and technology cooperation, including strengthening exchange and cooperation in areas such as promoting scientific research, commercialising research results and talent cultivation, as well constructing laboratories and R&D platforms in the field of technological innovation.

A delegation from Nanjing University visited CityUHK on 26 January 2024. Professor Freddy BOEY, President and University Distinguished Professor of CityUHK, and Mr TAN Tieniu, member of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and Party Secretary of Nanjing University, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), marking a new milestone in academic cooperation between the two universities. The MoU aims to jointly promote the development of higher education, and innovation and technology in Hong Kong and Jiangsu, and enhance collaboration between the two universities in various areas, including talent cultivation, academic exchanges and collaborative research projects.

A delegation led by Professor LIN Shangli, President and Vice Chairman of the University Council of Renmin University of China, visited CityUHK on 24 January 2024. The two universities explored the possibility of deepening collaboration through academic exchanges, personnel visits and nurturing talent, and had a fruitful discussion about a proposal to jointly establish the Hong Kong Development Research Centre.

Two delegations, led by Mr QIN Weizhong, Mayor of the Shenzhen Municipal People’s Government, and Mr HUANG Wei, Secretary of the CPC Futian District Committee, visited CityUHK on 5 and 6 December. The two parties discussed in detail topics such as the development plan of the CityUHK Matter Science Research Institute (Futian) and knowledge transfer of research achievements.

CityUHK signed a Memorandum of Cooperation with Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications on 29 November 2023 to strengthen cooperation between the two universities in areas such as joint student training, faculty exchanges and visits, and research collaboration. Professor LU Chun, Vice-President (Mainland Strategy), and Professor LI Juan, Associate Vice-President (Mainland Strategy), attended the signing ceremony.

CityUHK and Capital Normal University signed a Memorandum of Cooperation on 29 November 2023 to strengthen cooperation between the two universities in areas such as joint bachelor's, master's and doctoral degree programmes, credit exchange programs, and visits and exchanges between renowned scholars. Professor LU Chun, Vice-President (Mainland Strategy), and Professor LI Juan, Associate Vice-President (Mainland Strategy), attended the signing ceremony.

CityUHK hosted the Beijing–Hong Kong Universities Alliance (BHUA) Council Meeting and Theme Forum 2023 on 28 November 2023. The event was held in physical mode for the first time since the BHUA was launched in 2018, gathering representatives from supporting organisations in Beijing and Hong Kong, as well as 21 member universities, to explore new opportunities with the BHUA.

Ms. SHI Xiaolin, Deputy Secretary of the Sichuan Provincial Committee of the CPC and Secretary of the Chengdu Municipal Committee, visited CityUHK on 30 October 2023. CityUHK President BOEY, and Professor LU Chun, Vice-President (Mainland Strategy), warmly welcomed the delegation. The two sides had a friendly exchange on topics such as co-building innovation platforms, promoting the commercialisation of research results and cultivating talent.
