The 2025 Council Meeting and Presidents' Forum of the Jiangsu-Hong Kong-Macao University Cooperation Alliance was held at the University of Macau on 31 October 2025. Under the theme "Forging Synergy through Alliance, Promoting Mutual Benefits through Openness and Sharing", the event brought together universities from Jiangsu, Hong Kong and Macao. The in-depth discussions focused on topics such as inter-university cooperation, resource sharing and open exchanges, charting a new blueprint for the coordinated development of regional higher education. Professor Julie LI, Deputy Vice-President (Mainland Strategy), attended the meeting and delivered a speech at the Presidents' Forum.

On 28 October 2025, a delegation led by Professor ZHU Junwu, Vice President of Nanjing University of Science and Technology, visited CityUHK. They were warmly welcomed by Professor GOH Chin Foo, Associate Vice-President (Mainland Industry) and Director of the KTO. The two parties engaged in in-depth discussions on joint programmes and scientific research cooperation in the fields of chemical engineering and electro-optics, exploring potential areas for collaboration.

CityUHK and Fujian Fuyao University of Science and Technology (Fuyao UST) recently established a new academic partnership to jointly promote education, scientific research and industry collaboration. On 24 October 2025, a delegation from Fuyao UST visited CityU and was warmly received by Professor Freddy BOEY, CityUHK President and University Distinguished Professor, and Professor LEE Chun Sing, Provost and Deputy President, along with senior management. The two institutions formally signed a memorandum of cooperation, marking an important step forward in their collaboration across multiple fields.

On 21 October 2025, a delegation led by Mr. LI Shigong, Party Leadership Group Member and Deputy Director-General of the Shandong Provincial Department of Human Resources and Social Security, visited CityUHK. They were warmly welcomed by Professor Dannii YEUNG, Associate Provost (Student Life), and Professor TOH Kian Lam, Director of the Student Development Services. The two sides held talks on the development of the human resources services industry, talent exchange and cooperation, the promotion of high-quality, full employment, and establishing a communication and cooperation channel for the human resources services industry.

On 13 October 2025, a delegation led by Mr. HE Fengyang, Vice Mayor and Party Leadership Group Member of the Hefei Municipal People's Government, visited CityUHK. They were warmly welcomed by Professor Michael YANG Mengsu, Senior Vice-President (Innovation and Enterprise); Professor Julie LI, Deputy Vice-President (Mainland Strategy) and Acting Executive President of CityUHK (Dongguan); Professor Jianping WANG, Dean of the College of Computing; and Professor WANG Xin, Dean of the College of Science. The two sides actively explored collaboration opportunities in areas such as academic development, faculty and student exchanges, and educational synergy in the Greater Bay Area.

On 2 October 2025, a delegation led by Mr. WANG Duoxiang, Director of the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei National Technology Innovation Center and Director of the Guangzhou Center for Disruptive Technology Innovation, visited CityUHK. They were warmly welcomed by Professor Anderson SHUM, Vice-President (Research). Following a comprehensive briefing on the national disruptive technology innovation initiatives, the two parties engaged in in-depth discussions on potential collaboration opportunities leveraging the University's key academic strengths and the center's priority focus areas.

On 24 September 2025, the Opening Convocation Ceremony of the CityUHK Qingdao Research Institute was held in the Qingdao West Coast New Area. The event was attended by a distinguished assembly of guests, including senior management from CityUHK and CityUHK (Dongguan), faculty and staff representatives, the Class of 2025, alumni, and delegates from partner universities across the country. Also present were officials from the West Coast New Area Working Committee and the Guzhenkou Integration and Innovation District, along with representatives from relevant district-level departments and state-owned enterprises.

On 10 September 2025, City University of Hong Kong(Dongguan) “(CityUHK(DG))” held its 2025 Grand Opening Convocation Ceremony. Attending the ceremony as Guest of Honour was Mr. LEUNG Chun-ying, Vice Chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference. He encouraged the students to contribute to the development of the Greater Bay Area and the nation by cultivating innovative thinking and a global vision.
