Congratulations to Professor Lauren Yu-Hsin LIN on Obtaining the Award for Humanities and Social Sciences Prestigious Fellowship Scheme (HSSPFS)

Professor Lauren Yu-Hsin LIN, Professor of School of Law, City University of Hong Kong (CityUHK), has recently been awarded the Humanities and Social Sciences Prestigious Fellowship Scheme (HSSPFS 2025/26). Her project proposal is one of only two successful proposals of CityUHK.

The title of her award-winning project is “Competing for Value or Values? The Future of Global Capital Market Competition”. This research project will adopt a multidisciplinary approach, combining comparative legal analysis with economic analysis of law. By investigating how shifts in regulatory priorities, geopolitical tensions, and rising attention to environmental, social, and governance (ESG) factors are reshaping global stock market competition, this project will offer a holistic perspective on the future trajectory of global capital markets in an era of fast-paced regulatory change and intensifying geopolitical pressures.

The HSSPFS is a highly competitive grant scheme which aims at granting extended time-off and supporting funds to the outstanding investigators in UGC-funded universities under the disciplines of the Humanities and Social Sciences Panel to enable them to focus on research work and writing. The qualifications and track record of the nominees, and the scientific and scholarly merit, originality and feasibility of their project proposals, are rigorously assessed. The winning projects also show considerable contributions to academic or professional development, and potential social, cultural or economic application.

Congratulations again to Lauren!
