CityUHK School of Law Delegation Visits Thammasat University Faculty of Law, the Court of Justice of Thailand, and Chulalongkorn University Faculty of Law

On 11 November 2025, a delegation from the City University of Hong Kong (CityUHK) School of Law, led by Prof. Lin Feng, Dean and Chair Professor of Basic Law and Prof. He Tianxiang, Associate Professor and Master of Laws (LLM) Programme Director, visited Thammasat University Faculty of Law. They were received by Dean Supreeya Kaewla-iad and Associate Dean for International Programs and International Affairs, Dr. Amnart Tangkiriphimarn of Thammasat Law. During the visit, the two sides exchanged views on deepening academic ties between the institutions, including student exchange opportunities, visiting scholar schemes, and the organisation of joint academic conferences and workshops. Both parties agreed that there is strong potential for long-term cooperation and that the CityUHK School of Law would welcome a delegation from Thammasat University in Hong Kong next year to advance these discussions. After the exchange, Prof. He delivered a promotional talk on the CityUHK LLM Programme to the law students of Thammasat.

 

On 12 November, the delegation paid a visit to the Court of Justice of Thailand. They were welcomed by Mr. Thiratai Charoenwong, Secretary-General of the Office of the Judiciary, and Ms. Kamonchanok Katinasamit, Judge of the Office of the President of the Supreme Court. The meeting focused on possible forms of collaboration between the judiciary of Thailand and the CityUHK School of Law, particularly in relation to judicial training programmes, continuing education for judges, and exchanges on court administration and procedural reform. The participants also discussed how academic expertise and judicial practice could be connected through short training courses, seminars, and study visits that would support the professional development of judges and strengthen institutional links between Hong Kong and Thailand.

 

On 13 November, the delegation visited the Faculty of Law at Chulalongkorn University, where they were received by Dean Suphasit Taweejamsup and Vice Dean for International Affairs, Dr. Tidarat Sinlapapiromsuk. The two law schools discussed opportunities for student exchange at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels, as well as joint research projects. The meeting reaffirmed the shared commitment of both institutions to promoting high-quality legal education and research in Asia, and laid the foundation for closer academic cooperation between the CityUHK School of Law and the Faculty of Law, Chulalongkorn University. After the exchange, Prof. He delivered a promotional talk on the CityUHK LLM Programme to the law students of Chulalongkorn.
