A course may comprise more than one section type, e.g. lecture, tutorial, laboratory session, thesis/dissertation/project, fieldwork, seminar, and/or online delivery. Each section type may consist of more than one course section.
Course section of a course is composed of 3 characters and represented by a 5-digit unique Course Registration Number (CRN).
The first character refers to the section types,

The second character denotes the section group the course sections belong to. In other words, it defines whether the tutorials/laboratory sections are linked to designated lecture(s).
The third character is the ID of the course section.
Students should register one section in all necessary section types and the sections of all section types must belong to the same section group.
