JSDCJ Candidate Featured on CCTV Hosting a Talk on Wild Animal Protection
On 14 May 2026, Ms. Liu Wenxin, a student of the Doctor of Juridical Science (JSD) Programme for Chinese Senior Judges at the School of Law, City University of Hong Kong, featured on CCTV-12 (the Society and Law Channel of China Central Television) and hosted the programme Wildlife Is Not to Be Touched. Drawing on two real cases in which individuals were held criminally liable for keeping wild animals in captivity and trafficking products made from rare wildlife, she explained the importance of wildlife protection and advocated for the principle that wildlife is closely linked to the shared future of mankind, emphasizing that protecting wildlife is, in essence, protecting our human home.
“Judges Explain Cases”, a series under CCTV-12’s Legal Lecture programme, produced with coordinated support from the Information Department of the Supreme People's Court and the Social and Education Programme Center of China Media Group, has been broadcast successfully for over a decade. The series has become a well-known and highly praised brand of public legal education by Chinese judges. Ms. Liu Wenxin is a featured speaker on the Legal Lecture programme and has been invited multiple times to participate in recordings of rule-of-law-related episodes. The episodes cover a wide range of cases, including campus bullying, cosmetic surgery disputes, and crimes involving precious and endangered wildlife, with the aim of explaining the law through real cases, guiding viewers to discern right from wrong, and promoting the principles of governing the country according to law to maintain a harmonious society.
2026年5月14日，香港城市大學法律學院中國高級法官法學博士班學員劉文欣，出席中央電視台社會與法頻道CCTV12主持《野生動物碰不得》節目，通過兩個因豢養野生動物和販賣珍稀動物製品而觸犯刑法而承擔責任的真實案例，講述野生動物保護的重要性，倡導野生動物與人類命運息息相關，保護野生動物就是保護人類家園的法治理念。
中央電視台社會與法頻道《法律講堂》 “法官解案”系列節目，在最高人民法院新聞局和中央廣播電視總台社教節目中心的統籌支援下，已成功播出十餘年，成為中國法官公益普法為人所津津樂道的品牌。 學員劉文欣是《法律講堂》欄目主講人，多次受邀參加法治節目錄製。 播出節目涉及校園欺淩、整容糾紛、危害珍貴、瀕危野生動物犯罪等各種案例，旨在以案釋法，引導觀眾明辨是非，宣導依法治國、維護和諧社會的理念。
