Congratulations to Ms LIU Blanche Bo Kay Eufrosina, Year 2 LLB Student
The Outstanding Service Awards for Tertiary Students (“Award”) was introduced in 1991 to recognise tertiary students with outstanding leadership and significant community contributions. The award selection is co-organized by the Hong Kong Student Services Association (“HKSSA”) and the Hong Kong Outstanding Tertiary Students’ Services Association (“HKOTSSA”). Around 20 students are selected each year. All winners each for 2021/2022 received a certificate, a scholarship of HK$3,000 and the HKOTSSA membership.
Eufrosina is honored to be the only awardee from City University of Hong Kong for 2021/2022. She went through two rounds of interviews with over 50 applications and the selection panel’s screening to obtain the award. In addition to two rounds of interviews, she also attended the workshops organised by the Association for planning and engaged herself in a community service project.
With her enthusiasm for animal welfare, she and her groupmates worked on an animal-related community service project, organising a two-day workshop on animal-assisted intervention, animal welfare education, and a volunteering experience to let secondary school students learn more about animal welfare and the importance of adoption. Besides building participants' knowledge on animal welfare, the theme of animal-assisted intervention introduced a relatively new concept and rehabilitation method for promoting psychological well-being. The overall service project was a success considering the positive feedback received from participants of different backgrounds.
