Congratulations to Five Faculty Members Awarded General Research Fund (GRF)
The RGC has recently announced the results of the 2021–22 funding exercise of the General Research Fund (GRF). CityU School of Law continued to succeed in developing a strong research culture and has obtained five law research grants which indicates that we have a high quality research environment.
The total amount of the five funded projects captured by the CityU School of Law this year exceeded HK$2 million. The principal investigators are (in alphabetical order of surnames) Dr CHAN Chi Hin Peter, Prof Thomas CROFTS, Prof LIN Feng, Prof LIU Qiao and Dr Daniel PASCOE. Competition was fierce and their hard work has paid off. We congratulate them on their remarkable achievements, and look forward to their outstanding research outputs.

Prof LIU Qiao, “Addressing Impediments or Hardship to Contract Performance: A Comparative Study of the Common Law in Hong Kong and Chinese Law” (HK$512,904).
Dr Daniel PASCOE, “Foreign Domestic Helpers and Sentencing in Hong Kong” (HK$464,097).
研究資助局剛公佈了 2021-22 年度「優配研究金」的資助名單。香港城市大學法律學院繼續傳承、推動 研究氣氛，並取得五個在法學及跨領域的「優配研究金」研究資助，足顯城大法律學院擁有優質的研究 環境。
五個研究項目共取得超過二百萬港元資助。獲資助的教職員包括 (按英文姓氏順序) : 陳志軒博士、 Thomas CROFTS 教授、林峰教授、劉橋教授及 Daniel PASCOE 博士。「優配研究金」競爭激烈，欣悉 上述教職員的努力取得成果，我們謹向他們致以祝賀並期待他們的研究成果。我們同時感謝在這次申請 中所有付出辛勞、提交高品質研究課題的同事。
五項獲資助的研究項目詳情如下：
陳志軒博士的研究項目為「中國刑辯維權律師法律動員的實證研究」， 獲資助 $478,700。
Thomas CROFTS 教授的研究項目為「打擊香港的影像虐待行為」，獲資助 $558,470。
林峰教授的研究項目為「香港緊急狀態下的緊急權力規制比較研究」，獲資助 $249,209。
劉橋教授的研究項目為「意外事件合同履行障礙研究：中國大陸與香港法制比 較」，獲資助 $512,904。
Daniel PASCOE 博士的研究項目為「香港的外籍家庭傭工及判刑」，獲資助 $464,097。
