The College held its latest Town Hall Meeting for Semester B 2025/26 on 29 May 2026. The Town Hall Meetings continue to serve as a vital platform, bringing together staff to celebrate achievements, share key updates and discuss future priorities. A highlight of this semester’s event was the presentation of the College Excellence Awards 2026, which recognise outstanding contributions in teaching, research and service. These awards honour staff members who demonstrate dedication and innovation in their work, furthering the College’s mission and acaemic and reserach excellence.

Teaching Excellence Award 2026
Prof. Linyan LI, Assistant Professor, Department of Infectious Diseases and Public Health (PH)

Prof. LI has been awarded the Teaching Excellence Award for her creative and highly impactful contributions to education. Prof. LI has demonstrated a remarkable success in transforming student experience in studying health economics. By integrating diverse, innovative pedagogical strategies like interactive games and dynamic role-playing activities, she has kept students deeply engaged. Her nomination stood out with overwhelming student support and positive experience, highlighting her responsiveness to student feeback. Furthermore, her dedication to teaching development is underscored by several successful education grants, proving her commitment to advancing veterinary and public health education.
Service Excellence Award 2026
Ms. Winnie POON, Executive Officer I, Department of Veterinary Clinical Sciences (VCS)
Ms. POON has been awarded the Service Excellence Award in recognition of her outstanding administrative service and unwavering dedication to the JCC community. Since joining VCS in October 2021, Ms. POON has managed extensive adminstrative responsibilities in support numerous colelge and departmental initiatives. Her versatile support has been vital to the Bachelor of Veterinary Medicine (BVM) programme and various acadmeic and reserach programme and projects. Beyond departmental operations, Ms. POON has supporting the three major community initiatives: the Centre for Animal Health and Welfare (CAHW), the Veterinary Community Outreach Programme (VCOP), and the Little Angel Education Memorial Programme. Her exceptional ability to support and communicate fosters a positive, collaborative, and professional environment across the College.
