CityUHK CareerBridge+ (Graduate Employment Support Scheme)
1. Background and Objectives
CityUHK CareerBridge+ (城就職橋計劃) is a strategic initiative designed to support CityUHK undergraduate (UG) graduates in securing employment opportunities amid a challenging labour market environment. The scheme provides both internal and external employment opportunities, complemented by salary support, matching fund arrangements, and structured career development programmes, with the aim of facilitating a smooth transition from university to the workplace.
Under CityUHK CareerBridge+, the University provides support to facilitate the employment of undergraduate (UG) fresh graduates from the Class of 2026 through collaboration with external employers.
The Support for External Job Opportunities aims to:

- Facilitate CityUHK undergraduate (UG) graduates of the Class of 2026 in securing a meaningful employment.

- Encourage employers to hire UG fresh graduates through the Salary Matching Fund Scheme and related support.

- Strengthen university-employer partnerships.
2. Employer Participation Overview
Employers participating in the scheme will be able to:

- Access a pool of CityUHK UG fresh graduates seeking employment opportunities.

- Receive candidate referrals and job matching support.
-
- Benefit from the Salary Matching Fund Scheme when hiring CityUHK UG fresh graduates.
3. Salary Matching Fund Scheme
Participating employers will receive financial support for hiring CityUHK UG fresh graduates under the following arrangement:

- Up to HK$7,000 per month per graduate; or one-third of the graduate's monthly salary, whichever is lower, for a maximum funding period of 3 months.
Key Conditions of the Matching Fund

- Employers must pay the full monthly salary during the employment period.

- The matching fund is reimbursed upon completion of the employment period.

- Reimbursement is subject to submission and verification of supporting documents.

- Matching fund is subject to available quota (on a first-come, first-served basis).

- Employers must declare that no dual subsidy is received from CityUHK for hiring the same graduate.
4. Eligibility for Obtaining Funding Support
Employers should:

- Have been operating in Hong Kong for at least 6 months.
-
- Offer full-time permanent/regular or full-time contract roles suitable for UG fresh graduates.

- Provide employment for a minimum duration of 3 months.
-
- Offer positions commencing between July and October 2026.
5. Engagement Process
Step I: Submit Job Vacancies
Employers are required to submit job vacancies via the online registration form (Qualtrics) shared with you in the invitation email.

Step II: Job Review and Approval

- Job vacancies will be reviewed for eligibility and alignment with the scheme

- Employers will be notified of the outcome via email within 2 weeks upon submission.
Step III: Job Promotion and Applications
Approved job vacancies will be:

- Uploaded to the internal job platform.
-
- Promoted through Career Consultants.
-
- Circulated through targeted outreach channels.
Employers may:
-
- Receive applications directly from graduates.
-
- Receive referrals of suitable candidates through job matching support.
Step IV: Candidate Selection and Agreement

- Employers conduct selection and interviews.
-
- A CareerBridge+ Participation Agreement with CityUHK must be completed and endorsed by CityUHK before employers proceed with hiring or extending offers..
Step V: Appointment of Selected Graduate(s)

- After signing the CareerBridge+ Participation Agreement, employers may formally appoint the selected graduate(s) and sign employment contracts with them.
Step VI: Reimbursement Application
Upon completion of the employment period, employers are required to submit the following documents:

- Employment details.

- Salary payment records (payslips of the respective work period for the first 3 months, i.e., approx. 90 – 92 days of employment).

- Other required supporting documents, as specified in the CareerBridge+ Participation Agreement.
Step VII: Reimbursement Processing

- The University will verify all submitted information and documents.
-
- A minimum processing time of 4 to 6 weeks (upon receiving all the necessary supporting documents) should be expected.

- Reimbursement will be made via bank transfer or cheque.
6. Key Responsibilities of Employers
Participating employers are expected to:

- Provide meaningful job roles suitable for UG fresh graduates.

- Offer appropriate supervision and workplace support.
-
- Provide timely salary payments and all statutory entitlements in accordance with the Employment Ordinance of Hong Kong.

- Maintain proper employment records.
-
- Comply with all scheme requirements.
7. Important Notes

- Employers may choose not to apply for reimbursement (i.e., the matching fund is optional for employers). Reimbursement will be calculated on a pro-rata basis if employment ends early (please refer to the example in Question 18 under the FAQ section of this guideline).

- Participation in the scheme is subject to quota availability and funding availability.

- Each graduate will only be hired under the CareerBridge+ schemeonce.
8. Support Provided by the University
The University will provide:

- Promotion of job opportunities to graduates.
-
- Job matching and candidate referral support.
-
- Administrative support for Salary Matching Fund claims.
-
- Career consultation support for graduates to enhance job readiness.
