The Jockey Club College of Veterinary Medicine and Life Sciences (JCC) was delighted to welcome a high-level delegation from Cornell University from 10 to 12 November 2025. The long-standing strategic partnership between JCC and Cornell University’s College of Veterinary Medicine, which began in 2009, has been instrumental in shaping JCC's development and its world-class veterinary programme since its inception.
The delegation included Dr. Wendy Wolford, Vice Provost for International Affairs at Cornell University, as well as leadership from the College of Veterinary Medicine, Dean Lorin Warnick and Dr. Caroline Yancey, Associate Dean of International Programs. By building upon the strong foundation of our successful partnership, this visit created a dynamic platform to explore new frontiers for joint research and education.
The itinerary included high-level meetings with CityUHK leadership, as well as productive sessions with the JCC staff and students. The delegates toured state-of-the-art core facilities, including the Clinical Skills Laboratory, the new Necropsy Suite, the CityU Veterinary Medical Centre, and were given a preview of the soon-to-open Jockey Club One Health Tower, the future home of JCC. A key focus was engaging the next generation of talent through dedicated sessions for new faculty, Bachelor of Veterinary Medicine (BVM) students, and PhD students in the collaborative PhD programme with Cornell. These sessions explored how the CityUHK-Cornell collaboration can directly support their professional and academic growth.
The successful conclusion of this visit firmly establishes the next chapter of the JCC-Cornell partnership. By building upon a foundation of transformative collaboration, both institutions have reinforced their shared commitment to pioneering new standards in veterinary education and research, ensuring the partnership continues to create invaluable opportunities for academic and scientific exchange.
