Description
Two CityUHK Guangzhou Enterprise and Cultural Study Tours were held from 18 to 20 May and 26 to 28 May.
The first tour took students to experience the rapid development of Guangzhou's Baiyun District, providing rare opportunities to visit the factories and facilities of renowned Chinese brands Bawei Biotechnology and XPENG Motors —offering an eye-opening experience for all participants. Besides the company visits, students also had the chance to experience Baiyun Shan’s famous "Baiyun Zipline" and "Baiyun Shan Cableway" , as well as enjoy a scenic night cruise on the Pearl River! During the final part of the journey, the students visited Guangzhou Pui Ching Middle School, a famous, century-old institution in the Yuexiu District, where they engaged in warm cultural exchanges with local students.
On the second tour, in addition to visiting renowned Chinese enterprises, participants watched the recent hit film Dear You, which broke the 1 billion yuan mark at the nationwide box office and received widespread acclaim. They also visited the Guangzhou Overseas Chinese Museum, which currently features movie props from Dear You alongside its regular exhibitions, providing deep insights into the history of overseas Chinese. To wrap up the experience, students shared meaningful souvenirs and reflected on their takeaways from the journey.
Through these two tours, 80 CityUHK students gained valuable insights into mainland China's economic landscape and Chinese brand strategies, while experiencing the dynamic and vibrant culture of Guangzhou.
