Teaching and Learning Arrangements for Semester A 2021/22
In view of the improving public health situation in Hong Kong, the University has planned to adopt the following teaching and learning arrangements for Semester A 2021/22:
- Mode of delivery:
a. Sessions (including lecture, tutorial, laboratory and other sessions) with class size below 50 will be deliveredface-to-face on campus. b. Sessions withclass size of 50 to 79will be offered in amixed-mode format. Teachers will deliver these sessions real-time online via Zoom in conjunction with a face-to-face mode on campus. Students will be provided with the option to attend classes in person on campus or online via Zoom. Course teachers will make further announcements on the arrangements to be adopted for these sessions in due course. c. Sessions withclass size of 80or above will be deliveredreal-time onlinevia Zoom. - The default mode of final examinations for Semester A 2021/22 will be face-to-face on campus. Starting from Semester A 2021/22, final examinations taken online will be identified accordingly in students’ transcripts.
- All staff and students of the University should make appropriate arrangements to ensure that they return to campus by the start of Semester A 2021/22, taking into account the quarantine requirements issued by the Government. We recommend making flight and quarantine hotel reservations without delay to avoid any booking difficulties. As announced in the Notification from the Emergency Response Unit (ERU) (142), CityUHK encourages faculty, students, and staff to consider vaccinations according to their personal circumstances.
- While we are unable to predict the course of the COVID-19 pandemic, the University will continue to monitor the local public health situation and may have to adjust the teaching and learning arrangements to ensure the health and safety of our staff and students.
- The University strictly follows the Government infection control measures. Colleagues and students who come to campus must adhere to Government and University safety and health guidelines. Non-adherence may result in disciplinary action.
We look forward to welcoming all staff and students on campus in the coming new academic year!
