Abstract

The increasing need for talent in the environmental industry is indisputable. The growth in industry and infrastructure development has resulted in growing local and international environmental challenges such as climate change, air pollution and waste. There needs to be significant improvement and systemic changes in how we manage these evolving environmental impacts to meet the society's growing expectations for a sustainable future. It must start with "who" is doing this work to ensure a robust and/or high level of quality is met? Dr Ng, Chairman of the Hong Kong Institute of Qualified Professionals (HKIQEP) will share the rationale and history behind the founding of the HKIQEP and its journey so far.
