Dr Jeanne Ng is currently the Chair of the Hong Kong Institute of Qualified Environmental Professionals Limited (HKIQEP) and Director of the CLP Research Institute. She had a decade of consulting experience in Hong Kong’s environmental industry, as one of Hong Kong’s foremost experts in air and greenhouse gas emissions inventories. She joined CLP in 2003 and pioneered the development of the governance processes and ESG database, as well as the delivery of CLP’s award-winning Sustainability Report. She also helped to set up CLP Group’s first: renewable energy targets, Climate Vision 2050 carbon reduction targets and CLP’s Sustainable Development 2030 targets.

Jeanne is currently a Board member of the Julie Ann Wrigley Global Institute of Sustainability at Arizona State University and the International Electric Research Exchange (IERE). She was previously a Board member of the Air & Waste Management Association (AWMA) and the International Integrated Reporting Council (IIRC), as well as a member of the Advisory Council of the Sustainability Accounting Standards Board (SASB) and the Stakeholder Council of the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI).

The increasing need for talent in the environmental industry is indisputable. The growth in industry and infrastructure development has resulted in growing local and international environmental challenges such as climate change, air pollution and waste. There needs to be significant improvement and systemic changes in how we manage these evolving environmental impacts to meet the society's growing expectations for a sustainable future. It must start with "who" is doing this work to ensure a robust and/or high level of quality is met? Dr Ng, Chairman of the Hong Kong Institute of Qualified Professionals (HKIQEP) will share the rationale and history behind the founding of the HKIQEP and its journey so far.
