The Jockey Club College of Veterinary Medicine and Life Sciences (JCC) is delighted to welcome a new cohort of undergraduate and postgraduate students as the 2025/26 academic year begins. A series of Orientation Day events marked an exciting and supportive start for students beginning their academic journey with us.
Bachelor of Veterinary Medicine Programme
The Bachelor of Veterinary Medicine (BVM) programme officially welcomed its new cohort on 26 August 2025. The orientation provided an opportunity for incoming veterinary students to connect with peers, faculty and staff. Students received briefings covering essential aspects of their studies and available student support services. The day concluded with a tour of the Clinical Skills Lab and interactive activities designed to strengthen communication and teamwork within the new cohort. From 29 to 31 August, the BVM Year 1 students took part in a Teamwork and Leadership Orientation Camp, facilitated by Outward Bound Hong Kong. The camp empowered the students to develop crucial leadership and collaborative skills through challenging outdoor activities. This enriching experience fostered resilience and established a supportive culture to carry into their academic pursuits.

Master of Public Health Programme
The Master of Public Health (MPH) programme welcomed more than 80 enthusiastic students during a dynamic two-day orientation held on 27 and 28 August. The schedule featured interactive sessions, campus tours, and team-building exercises, culminating in student presentations before a panel of distinguished public health professionals. This orientation marked the promising start of the cohort’s journey, setting the stage for their future contributions to public health and reinforcing JCC’s commitment to nurturing the next generation of leaders in the field.
PhD Student Orientation
On 28 August, JCC hosted an orientation for new PhD students, introducing them to key aspects of their doctoral journey. Faculty and researchers shared insights into the expectations and resources available to doctoral candidates. The event included valuable perspectives from current PhD students, a networking lunch and laboratory tours, ensuring new students feel prepared and supported as they embark on their research and academic endeavours. We look forward to seeing our new students thrive in their respective programmes at JCC as they develop into skilled professionals ready to improve animal and human health through science and care.
