IT Officer (Development) in the Computing Services Centre (Appointment up to 30 June 2024) [Ref. D/R/152/09]

The Computing Services Centre (CSC) at City University of Hong Kong manages the University’s Information Technology infrastructure and services covering Data Centre Operations, Cloud and System Hosting, Research Computing and High-Performance Computing, Communication and Networking, Workspace and Audio-Visual Technologies, and other related IT functions to support the University’s operations.  The Centre has about 110 staff and contractors currently.

Duties

  1. Develop and design hybrid web and mobile applications;
  2. Assist in microservices development on our API platform;
  3. Contribute to our agile development process;
  4. Involve in technology exploration and evaluation;
  5. Handle daily CSC service requests for end-users; and
  6. Perform any other duties as assigned.

 

Requirements

  1. A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related disciplines, preferably with at least 2 years' relevant post-qualification work experience in mobile or frontend development;
  2. Practical experience in mobile or web technology stack (e.g. Swift, Kotlin, Python, RESTful, etc.);
  3. Eagerness to explore and adopt cutting-edge technologies, and being passionate about delivering user-centric products;
  4. Good command of written and spoken English and Chinese are required; and
  5. Knowledge of modern development tools and models (e.g. Git/CI/Docker/Serverless, etc.) and ITIL framework will be an advantage.

 

Fresh graduates with passion will also be considered.

Salary and Conditions of Service

Salary offered will be highly competitive, commensurate with qualifications and experience.  Fringe benefits include leave, medical and dental consultations at the campus clinic.
