IT Officer I/II/ Assistant IT Officer I in the Office of the Vice-President (Talent & International Strategy) [Ref. D/408/09]

Duties

  1. Maintain, design, enhance and monitor the ongoing updates of the Office website;
  2. Participate in the software and/or system development and maintenance projects;
  3. Liaise with IT professionals, working groups and end users to enhance the existing institutional IT system;
  4. Liaise with stakeholders to obtain user requirements and assist the IT operation of the Office including equipment and software procurement and set up;
  5. Coordinate with relevant offices on network and systems troubleshooting and maintenance;
  6. Provide administrative, overall IT and technical assistance including hardware maintenance and support to the Office, special events and projects;
  7. Assist in inventory records and documentations; and
  8. Perform any other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  1. A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/Information Technology or related disciplines, with at least 5 years of post-qualification working experience in website and web application development;
  2. Solid experience of web development technologies like HTML, CSS, JavaScript jQuery, Bootstrap, ASP.NET (Version 4 & 6), C# and MS SQL;
  3. Experience in SharePoint Administration and supporting software installation;
  4. Sound knowledge of PC, basic server setup and configuration management;
  5. Strong knowledge on graphic design software like AI and Photoshop;
  6. Good analytical mind and interpersonal skills;
  7. Responsible, self-motivated, detail-oriented and a good team player;
  8. Willing to learn and adapt to emerging technologies; and
  9. Good command of written and spoken English and Chinese are required.
  10. Experience in system development with SQL, PL/SQL, AJAX, VUE and REACT would be an advantage.

Candidates holding a Bachelor’s degree with less relevant post-qualification experience may be considered for appointment as IT Officer II.

Candidates with 5 passes in HKCEE/HKDSEE including English Language, Chinese Language and Mathematics, and not less than 6 years of relevant post-qualification working experience may be considered for appointment as Assistant IT Officer I.

Shortlisted candidates will be invited for a written test.

Salary and Conditions of Service

Remuneration package will be highly competitive, commensurate with qualifications and experience. Appointment will be made on a fixed-term contract; fringe benefits include gratuity, leave, medical and dental schemes.
