IT Engineer/IT Officer (Security) in the Computing Services Centre [Ref. D/358/09]

The Computing Services Centre (CSC) at City University of Hong Kong manages the University's Information Technology infrastructure and services covering Data Centre Operations, Cloud and System Hosting, Research Computing and High-Performance Computing, Communication and Networking, Workspace and Audio-Visual Technologies, and other related IT functions to support the University's operations. The Centre has about 110 staff and contractors currently.

Duties

  1. Assist in Centralised Firewall Management Platform Implementation (Tufin);
  2. Manage Network Segmentation Project and assist in large-scale firewall implementations;
  3. Review the Domain Name Services and records, and build necessary lifecycle management mechanism;
  4. Build intelligence in SIEM to identify threats from the reports provided by the SOC, and take appropriate actions to close the loop (e.g. repeated logins, frequent password attempts, impossible geographic location, abnormal inbound/outbound traffic, etc.);
  5. Assist in information security investigation, and carry out forensic analysis; and
  6. Perform any other duties as assigned.


Requirements

  1. A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/Information Management or related disciplines, with at least 5 years’ post-qualification working experience;
  2. Knowledge of Web Application, Windows and Linux operating system, and Network;
  3. Good analytical skills with strong sense of responsibility;
  4. Good communication and interpersonal skills, and good command of both written and spoken English and Chinese are required;
  5. Hands-on experience with information security and project management would be an advantage; and
  6. Professional certifications such as CISSP and CEH would be beneficial but not mandatory.


Candidates with less experience will be considered for appointment as IT Officer (Security).

Salary and Conditions of Service

Remuneration package will be highly competitive, commensurate with qualifications and experience.  Appointment will be made on a fixed-term contract; fringe benefits include gratuity, leave, medical and dental schemes.
