Information Technology Officer in the Department of Veterinary Clinical Sciences (Appointment up to 30 June 2024) [Ref. C/R/498/09]

 

Duties

  1. Manage and maintain the Department’s Canvas course pages;
  2. Develop and maintain systems, including software and hardware, servers and networks;
  3. Design, develop, and deployment of web applications that facilitate the Department’s daily operations, including the Department’s website;
  4. Provide technical support and coach staff of the Department in relation to their development of IT skills;
  5. Carry out technical assistance and field support to teaching, meetings, seminars and activities such as video conferencing and live video streaming;
  6. Assist in inventory and budget control of IT/AV equipment as well as sourcing and purchasing of IT/AV equipment;
  7. Assist in video editing; and
  8. Perform any other duties as assigned by the Head of the Department or his delegates.

Requirements

A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/Information Technology or related disciplines, preferably with at least 3 years of relevant post-qualification working experience.  Excellent command of written and spoken English and Chinese; good interpersonal, organisational, technical, critical and analytical skills with a flexible and creative approach to problem-solving; and strong self-motivation with the ability to work independently to meet tight timelines are required.  Knowledge of HTML would be an advantage.

Salary and Conditions of Service

Salary offered will be highly competitive, commensurate with qualifications and experience.  Fringe benefits include leave, medical and dental consultations at the campus clinic.
