Administrative Assistant (Research Studies) in the Chow Yei Ching School of Graduate Studies [Ref. C/760/09]

 

Duties

The appointee will provide support to the School’s promotion and development.  Main duties include to:

  1. Collaborate with various parties to ensure successful collection of analytic information and data;
  2. Collaborate with IT staff in the School to explore, conceptualise, and design the method to prepare the visualiseable data;
  3. Propose arguments on the existing dataset or add new datasets to enhance the diversity of potential variables and relations so as to provide various solutions for diverse promotion activities, by following audience-targeted and media-specific strategies; and
  4. Provide support to user community (alumni/graduates) by identifying appropriate visualisation tools and information sharing.


Requirements

  1. A Bachelor’s degree in Business/Information Technology/Computer Sciences/Data Sciences/ Systems Management/Statistics or relevant fields;
  2. At least 3 years of relevant work experience;
  3. Strong data organisation and administrative skills;
  4. Ability to collect necessary information by literature review and information search;
  5. Ability to gather requirements and develop actionable analytics;
  6. Expertise in using Excel, SPSS, SAS or its equivalent tools;
  7. Expertise in designing and developing dashboards/data visualisations;
  8. A keen eye for detail to keep track of and monitor progress of a wide range of work-related issues;
  9. Being self-initiative with ability to work under pressure/tight deadlines;
  10. Strong written and spoken communication skills;
  11. Strong interpersonal skills with ability to operate effectively within cross-functional collaborations; and
  12. Strong ethics and ability to manage sensitive and/or confidential information are required;
  13. Demonstrated proficiency with data manipulation and analytics within an academic setting;
  14. Prior experience of working with business intelligence platforms; and
  15. Familiarity with Informatica ETL tools, SQL and SQL Server are advantageous.

Salary and Conditions of Service

Remuneration package will be highly competitive, commensurate with qualifications and experience.  Appointment will be made on a fixed-term contract; fringe benefits include gratuity, leave, medical and dental schemes.
