Executive Assistant (Mental Health) (2 posts) in the Student Development Services [Ref. B/810/09]

Duties

  1. Initiate and coordinate university-wide programmes for the promotion of students’ psychological wellness;
  2. Lead and supervise a group of student volunteers to run student-initiated mental health programmes and workshops;
  3. Assist counsellors to develop self-help protocol and public education activities to support students in developing life skills to help them cope with everyday challenges in their lives;
  4. Conduct intake interviews and provide advice on guided self-help for students seeking counselling under the supervision of a counsellor;
  5. Hold psychoeducational groups and provide low intensity psychological interventions for students seeking counselling and refer students to see a counsellor if needed; and
  6. Perform any other duties as assigned.

The appointee will be required to work flexible hours on a need basis.

Requirements

  1. A Bachelor’s degree with at least 1 year’s relevant experience, preferably with completion of the certificate courses/training in low-intensity cognitive behavioural therapy (LICBT) or the Improving Access to Communities Therapies (iACT®) Programme – Wellbeing Practitioner Training Course;
  2. Good command of written and spoken English and Chinese;
  3. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
  4. Ability to work independently and in a team;
  5. Self-motivated and able to work under pressure; and
  6. Proficiency in computer applications (such as MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Shortlisted candidates will be invited for a written test.

Salary and Conditions of Service

Remuneration package will be highly competitive, commensurate with qualifications and experience.  Appointment will be made on a fixed-term contract; fringe benefits include gratuity, leave, medical and dental schemes
