Senior Education Development Officer in the Talent and Education Development Office [Ref. B/582/09]

Duties

The appointee is expected to provide assistance to the Director of the Office.  Duties include to:

  1. Provide expertise and leadership in student learning schemes and/or staff development activities;
  2. Coordinate and perform quality assurance tasks in teaching and learning and provide meaningful analysis;
  3. Prepare institutional-level teaching and learning reports;
  4. Provide innovative pedagogical advice and support to faculty in at least three of the following areas:
    • Technology-enhanced learning
    • Online/hybrid learning and flipped classroom
    • Instructional video and online teaching materials
    • Outcome-based teaching and learning
    • Active learning
    • Staff development
  5. Perform any other duties as assigned.


Requirements

  1. A doctoral degree or equivalent professional qualification in an academic discipline recognized by the University;
  2. At least 12 years of experience in the tertiary education sector;
  3. Outstanding teaching experience;
  4. Substantial experience in enhancing student learning and nurturing student success;
  5. Strong track record in promoting teaching and learning activities to faculty;
  6. Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills and evidence of working successfully in a team; and
  7. A good record of publication related to teaching and learning would be an advantage.

Salary and Conditions of Service

Remuneration package will be highly competitive, commensurate with qualifications and experience.  Appointment will be made on a fixed-term contract; fringe benefits include gratuity, leave, medical and dental schemes.
