Executive Officer I/II in CityU Dongguan Campus Office [Ref. A/662/09]

 

Duties

Assist and support in matters related to the establishment of the to‐be‐built campus in Dongguan - "CityU (Dongguan)" [CityU (DG)]. The appointee may be required to work at the CityU (Dongguan)/CityU (DG). Main duties include to:

  1. Liaise with internal and external parties for formulating proposals and plans for the establishment of CityU (DG);
  2. Perform a wide spectrum of postgraduate-related work including policies and regulations governing postgraduate studies, curricular matters, resources and quality assurance matters;
  3. Oversee the academic standard of postgraduate programmes, and provide support for the admissions and development of postgraduate programmes and courses;
  4. Render secretarial support to committees, including preparation of papers and compilation of reports;
  5. Enhance efficiency of procedures and develop documentation in alignment with the University’s quality assurance framework;
  6. Facilitate the communication between relevant units at CityU and CityU (DG) for effective implementation of plans and activities related to CityU (DG); and
  7. Perform any other duties as assigned.


Frequent travels to Mainland China will be required.

Requirements

  1. A Bachelor's degree with at least 5 years’ administrative experience, preferably in higher education institutions;
  2. Excellent spoken and written English and Chinese (including Putonghua) with high level of analytical and critical thinking skills;
  3. Good presentation, organisational and communication skills, and ability to adopt creative and flexible approach to problem solving;
  4. Excellent data interpretation and report-writing skills; and
  5. Ability to multitask and work under pressure are required;
  6. Candidates with a minimum of 3 years’ experience in academic quality assurance or closely related areas, particularly in the field of academic audit, would be an advantage.


Candidates with more than 7 years’ relevant experience may be considered for appointment as Executive Officer I.

Salary and Conditions of Service

Remuneration package will be highly competitive, commensurate with qualifications and experience.  Appointment will be made on a fixed-term contract; fringe benefits include gratuity, leave, medical and dental schemes.
