Senior Teaching Fellow/Teaching Fellow in the Department of Biomedical Sciences [Ref. C/883/09]

Duties

  1. Teach Biomedical Sciences/Biological Sciences and related disciplines at undergraduate and postgraduate levels;
  2. Be subject leaders in individual’s specialism providing leadership in teaching;
  3. Be assigned responsibility as course co-ordinators, contributing to the planning and development of courses and study programmes of the Department, including the servicing courses arranged by Department/School in other units;
  4. Undertake teaching and teaching-related duties, as well as learning support and professional activities to enhance student educational experience; and
  5. Share administrative duties as required by the Head of Department/School.

Requirements

A relevant postgraduate degree with teaching or professional experience in the broadly-defined areas of Biomedical Sciences, particularly cellular pathology, medical microbiology, hematology, or clinical chemistry.

Candidates for Senior Teaching Fellow should have substantial professional experience, expertise and recognisable achievements in non-academic settings; and a distinguished record of teaching and administration, contribution to instructional development, with demonstrated experience and accomplishment in curriculum planning and student supervision. 

Candidates for Teaching Fellow should have relevant professional experience and expertise in non-academic settings, with experience in administration.

Medical Laboratory Technologists (MLT) Board registration is required.

Salary and Conditions of Service

Remuneration package will be highly competitive, commensurate with qualifications and experience. Appointment will be made on a fixed-term contract; fringe benefits include gratuity, leave, medical and dental schemes.
