Senior Teaching Fellow/Teaching Fellow/Instructor I/II (Finance) in the Department of Economics and Finance [Ref. B/793/09]

Duties

  1. Teach Finance and related disciplines at undergraduate and postgraduate levels that may include teaching in the evenings;
  2. Be subject leaders in individual’s specialism providing leadership in teaching;
  3. Undertake teaching-related duties, as well as learning support and professional activities to enhance student educational experience;
  4. Supervise students’ projects and other activities of learning, including preparation of study materials, setting and moderating examination papers; and
  5. Perform administrative duties as required by the Head of Department.

Requirements

A PhD degree in Finance or related disciplines, with evidence of quality teaching.

Candidates for Senior Teaching Fellow should have substantial professional experience, expertise and recognisable achievements in non-academic settings (prerequisite requirement); and a distinguished record of teaching and administration, contribution to instructional development, with demonstrated experience and accomplishment in curriculum planning and student supervision.

Candidates for Teaching Fellow should have relevant professional experience and expertise in non academic settings (prerequisite requirement), with experience in administration.

Candidates for Instructor I should have 4 years’ appropriate postgraduate full-time teaching experience. Candidates with less relevant experience may be considered for appointment as Instructor II.

Salary and Conditions of Service

Remuneration package will be highly competitive, commensurate with qualifications and experience. Appointment will be made on a fixed-term contract; fringe benefits include gratuity, leave, medical and dental schemes.
