Senior Teaching Fellow/Teaching Fellow/Instructor I/II in the Department of Accountancy [Ref. B/787/09]

Duties

  1. Make significant contributions to teaching of accountancy-related subjects (e.g. financial accounting, management accounting, corporate governance, tax, auditing, ESG) at undergraduate and postgraduate levels;
  2. Be subject leaders in individual’s specialism providing leadership in teaching;
  3. Be assigned responsibility as course co-ordinators, contributing to the planning and development of courses and study programmes of the Department;
  4. Undertake teaching and teaching-related duties, as well as learning support and professional activities to enhance student educational experience;
  5. Contribute to professional engagement, networking, and outreach activities that enhance the academic and professional reputation of the Department; and
  6. Share administrative duties as required by the Head of Department.

Requirements

A relevant postgraduate degree in related disciplines, with teaching or professional qualification in the accounting field. Work experience is preferred.

Candidates for Senior Teaching Fellow should have substantial professional experience, expertise and recognisable achievements in non-academic settings (prerequisite requirement); and a distinguished record of teaching and administration, contribution to instructional development, with demonstrated experience and accomplishment in curriculum planning and student supervision.

Candidates for Teaching Fellow should have relevant professional experience and expertise in non‑academic settings (prerequisite requirement), with experience in administration.

Candidates for Instructor I should have 4 years’ appropriate postgraduate full-time teaching experience. Candidates with less relevant experience may be considered for appointment as Instructor II.

The successful candidate is expected to commence duty in August/September 2024.

Salary and Conditions of Service

Remuneration package will be highly competitive, commensurate with qualifications and experience. Appointment will be made on a fixed-term contract; fringe benefits include gratuity, leave, medical and dental schemes.
