The Department of Electrical Engineering, founded in 1984, has been achieving notable headway throughout the years in its excellence in professional education and research, realising its vision of becoming a leading department of its kind among global tertiary institutions. It was ranked 15th worldwide and 1st in Hong Kong by subject in Electrical and Electronic Engineering according to U.S. News and World Report Best Global Universities Rankings 2020; 21st worldwide and 1st in Hong Kong in Engineering Performance Ranking of Scientific Papers for World Universities by National Taiwan University Ranking 2019; and got highest “expected output index” worldwide in Electrical and Electronic Engineering by Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2018.

Duties

Teach and supervise student projects at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels, conduct frontline research, and develop new research directions and courses, where applicable, in the areas of Electronic and Electrical Engineering with special focuses on Millimeter Waves and THz; Control Systems; Nanotechnology for Optoelectronics and Biosystems; Communications and Networking; Power Systems; and Computer and Data Engineering.

Requirements

A PhD in Electronic Engineering/Electrical and Computer Engineering or related disciplines plus a strong research record.

Salary and Conditions of Service

Remuneration package will be driven by market competitiveness and individual performance.  Excellent fringe benefits include gratuity, leave, medical and dental schemes, and relocation assistance (where applicable).  Initial appointment will be made on a fixed-term contract.
