About the Fintech Olympiad 2022

Vision

In tandem with the Fintech 2025 strategy, the vision of the Fintech Olympiad (FTOL) is to bridge the gap between academia and industry for students to deeply understand the fundamentals of fintech and how to apply those principles in practical settings, so that the fair and efficient financial services may benefit the people and economy of Hong Kong.

Mission

The mission of Fintech Olympiad (FTOL) is to promote and support the development and education of fintech across all industries. Primarily working with the current and recent university students in the districts of Great Bay Area (GBA) such as Hong Kong, Macao, and Shenzhen, providing education to students and spreading the knowledge of fintech.

Programme

The Fintech Olympiad (FTOL) provides a series of training to the participants on deciding solutions with applying fintech for students to delve deeper into the fintech world, giving them an amazing opportunity to explore their knowledge and put them into applications for the real world. This is the first year to hold an academic competition of fintech in Hong Kong and the regions of the Greater Bay Area (GBA), inviting students to propose a solution with real-life problems applying fintech concepts. After their training, they may choose to compete in FTOL 2022 by submitting a poster to demonstrate their idea. If they are shortlisted to compete in the finals, they would need to submit a pitch deck and a 10-min pitch video, and present to the judges live on the final competition day.
