Around 60 staff from City University of Hong Kong (CityU) and their family members enjoyed the splendid scenery of Clearwater Bay in Sai Kung on a relaxing Saturday morning during a five-kilometre charity walk on 26 November led by Professor Way Kuo, University President.

The walkers were raising funds for the hospital Eye-train “Lifeline Express” which helps underprivileged patients in mainland China suffering from cataracts.

In addition to Professor Kuo, other senior management in attendance were Professor Matthew Lee Kwok-on, Vice-President (Development and External Relations); Mr Sunny Lee Wai-kwong, Vice-President (Administration); and Professor Paul Lam Kwan-sing, Chief-of-Staff. More than HK$30,000 was raised by CityU.

“CityU staff contributed both their money and time to help the underprivileged by taking part in the walk,” said Ms Helen Leung Lai-wa, Director of Human Resources. “It is our way of showing social responsibility, and the walk was also a great way to strengthen friendship among staff.”

CityU’s participation was organised by the Staff Social Club of the Human Resources Office.
