Energy policy book explores ‘One Belt One Road’

 


 
The launch of a new book published by City University of Hong Kong (CityU) Press was followed by a workshop and the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Petroleum Industry Press on 28 September.
 
The new book is titled China's Energy Policy from National and International Perspectives—The Energy Revolution and One Belt One Road Initiative.
 
It was co-authored by Dr William Chung Siu-wai, Associate Professor of CityU’s Department of Management Sciences and Director of Energy and Environmental Policy Research Unit, and Professor Xu Qinhua, Director of the Center for International Energy and Environment Strategy Studies, Renmin University of China.
 
The two authors explained the significance of the “One Belt One Road” Initiative on the energy policy in mainland China during a workshop after the launch ceremony.
 
In attendance were Mr Godfrey Leung King-kwok, Under Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development Bureau, HKSAR; Mr Alfred Sit, Deputy Director of the Electrical and Mechanical Services Department; and representatives from the Hong Kong and China Gas Company Limited, CLP Group, Hongkong Electric Company and Alpha Appliances Limited.
 
An MOU for co-publishing signed between Mr Lang Dongxiao, Director General of Marketing and Sales of Petroleum Industry Press, and Professor Zhu Guobin, Director of CityU Press and Professor of the School of Law, at the workshop aims to promote the publishing and distribution of the new book in mainland China.
